Marine Sanouiller, finalist of the Rising Sustainability Star Award, Reuters Global Sustainability Awards 2026

I am deeply honoured to be finalist for the Global Reuters Sustainability Awards 2026.

While this recognition is personal, I see it above all as a recognition of a belief that has guided my work for many years: sustainability is not a separate agenda from business strategy. It is one of the most powerful levers for building resilient organizations.

In a world characterized by accelerating disruptions, whether climate-related, geopolitical, technological, regulatory, or societal, organizations can no longer rely on traditional models of performance. The businesses that will thrive tomorrow are those that can anticipate change, adapt rapidly, and create value while strengthening their ability to withstand uncertainty.

Too often, sustainability has been approached as a reporting exercise, a compliance requirement, or a reputation initiative. My experience has shown that its true potential lies elsewhere. When sustainability is embedded into strategy, it becomes a catalyst for innovation, risk management, talent engagement, customer relevance, and long-term competitiveness.

Over the course of my career, I have had the privilege of working with leaders and teams who understand that resilience is not built through isolated initiatives. It is created when organizations align their purpose, business model, operations, culture, and decision-making processes around long-term value creation.

The sustainability challenges facing businesses today are complex, but they also present extraordinary opportunities. Organizations that embrace this transformation are not only reducing risks; they are discovering new markets, developing stronger stakeholder relationships, and positioning themselves for sustained growth.

This nomination reinforces my conviction that the future belongs to organizations capable of connecting sustainability and business performance. It is a reminder that resilience is not a defensive strategy. It is a growth strategy.

I would like to thank the many colleagues, partners, customers, and mentors who have contributed to this journey. Recognition such as this is never the result of individual effort alone. It reflects the collective commitment of people who are willing to challenge established thinking and help organizations evolve for a rapidly changing world.

As we look ahead, I remain more convinced than ever that sustainable transformation is ultimately about helping organizations become stronger, more adaptive, and better prepared for whatever comes next.
